Melvin David known as MD el ex Fantazma, began his music career at an early age of 4. He began his journey as a drummer for his church at the age of 4 and later learned how to play different instruments but he knew then his passion would be for percussion. Most of his family played a musical instrument and his mother was a known Christian singer in the community. MD would travel with his mother and accompany her when she performed.
In his teen years he joined several groups and performed in local venues and talent shows. His music was a variety of styles and he played everything from hiphop to latin jazz and latin rock with a fusion of pop. As he was discovering his own unique style he realized that his sound set him apart from many of the reggaeton groups that were out at that time and captivated by the latin hiphop and reggaeton movement, he decided to begin recording his demos and performing as an opening act to many latin grammy artist such as Don Omar, Wisin y Yandel, DLG, Hector y Tito, Eddie Santiago, Grupo Mania, Wyclef Jean, Nina Sky and many more!
When MD met Alex Figueroa, he knew he had a secret weapon that could open doors in the music industry. MD became the first to present Lex, the first reggaeton Violinist. They both went on to perform nationwide and were privileged enough to work with Don Omar, Toby Love and many others.
MD would go on to then present the first Laoggaton artist Alex Sandinero and they both would become the first international laoggaeton duo to be played on radio free asia and welcomed in the Asian community.
MD decided to make a change in his music and focus on positive music that would change people's lives. He began to work with Sicily, an upcoming Christian artist and they released I am 2iceborn, which would prove that MD was more than just a reggaeton artist.
His current album MD el ex Fantazma has had a great response from his fans and he is currently working on a new project that will pave the way for whats to come.
Stay tuned, MD is just getting started!
